Not long after Spider-Man: No Way Home was released, Spider-Man 4 was in pre-production which Sony expects to release in 2025. This was not in line with what Marvel wanted. There were reports indicating tension between Kevin Feige and Sony Pictures executives.
Marvel Studios currently has a busy schedule with many exciting movies that they will soon release.
Marvel Studios is expected to release several MCU films within the next year, including Fantastic Four, Captain America: Brave New World, and Thunderbolt.
Along with that, Marvel Studios will also release the Ironheart and Daredevil series: Born Again. However, due to the tight schedule, Marvel Studios decided to delay the release of Spider-Man 4 until 2026, hoping to combine it with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Marvel Studios is given ample opportunity to ensure that its products are of good quality and meet the expectations of the fans.
Sony wants Spider-Man 4 to be released in 2025
However, it seems that Sony Pictures (according to Daniel RPK’s report) does not agree with Marvel Studios’ plan to launch Spider-Man 4 in 2026. Sony is still asking for the Spider-Man 4 movie to be completed and released in 2025.
In addition, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have different views on the direction Spider-Man 4 should take. Marvel Studios wants to make a movie that focuses on the villain Kingpin. He was targeted by an alliance of Daredevil and Spider-Man for them to defeat.
Meanwhile, Sony Pictures hopes that the sequel will follow the adventures of Spider-Man who jumps from one reality to another. Perhaps more or less as seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
It is still unclear who will fulfill these wishes, or if there is a compromise they can find. Hopefully, the conflict between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures will end soon.
Of course, fans are very excited about Spider-Man 4. They hope that an amazing story can be present in this film, especially considering that this may be Spider-Man’s last film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, most fans seem to be in favor of Marvel Studios and hope they have enough time to complete the project properly.
