Peter Parker’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe has finally been announced after Sony Pictures set the official release schedule for Spider-Man 4. One of the most anticipated projects in the MCU timeline is the upcoming Spider-Man 4, considering Tom Holland has not appeared in the franchise since Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021.
After years in development, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are getting closer to realizing the sequel featuring Holland from concept to reality.
1. Spider-Man 4 Official Release Schedule
According to a report from Deadline, Sony Pictures has just announced an official update regarding their release schedule. Sony revealed that the untitled Spider-Man 4 movie will hit theaters on July 24, 2026. Interestingly, actor Tom Holland has also “confirmed” this via his Instagram Story.
This officially makes it part of Phase 6 of the MCU. Production is set to begin in the summer of 2025, and Holland has now joined the cast. The movie will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, and there are rumors that Zendaya will also be involved in the project.
2. Airing between Two Avengers Movies
With this release schedule, Spider-Man 4 means that it will air between two other Avengers films, Avengers: Doomsday which is coming in 2025 and Avengers: Secret Wars which has a scheduled release in 2027.
Until now, there is no clear information about the time setting and storyline of this movie, whether it will take place before or after Avengers: Doomsday. Rumor has it that Spider-Man might be one of the main characters in Doomsday.
Given the MCU’s hectic release schedule in the next few years, July 24, 2026 is a very good choice for Spider-Man as the main summer movie. With Holland’s Spider-Man 4 filming already confirmed, details regarding the cast will surely emerge in the coming months.
