Warning, this article contains SPOILERS! These are the 8 symbiotes that appear in Venom 3 or Venom The Last Dance.

Venom 3, which we know as Venom: The Last Dance, has introduced us to the other symbiotes that appear in the movie.

In this movie, Knull, the Symbiote god, is introduced for the first time. Despite being the antagonist, Knull does not appear as the final boss. He directed the Xenophage, his followers, to pursue Eddie Brock and Venom. During his escape, Venom received help from several other Symbiotes.

Venom 3 is the latest film from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, which officially opens in Indonesia on October 23, 2024. This movie is the sequel to Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage and marks the end of the Venom trilogy.

List of Symbiotes in Venom 3 Movie

What makes this Venom series so exciting for Marvel fans is the way it introduces some of the iconic symbiotes from the comics into live-action for the first time.

From the lightning-powered Agony to the gun-toting Lasher, each new symbiote brings its own uniqueness to the screen. Here are each of the main symbiotes that appear in this Venom finale.

1. Venom

The familiar anti-hero returns as the main symbiote in this story. When the movie begins, Eddie and Venom have been bonded for over a year, having faced Riot and Carnage in previous movies.

This time, they must escape law enforcement and Knull’s dangerous Xenophage hunters, who are after a special code formed when Venom first revived Eddie.

In the movie’s climax, Venom makes what seems to be the ultimate sacrifice, joining forces with Xenophage to destroy the code and stop Knull’s plans.

2. Toxin (Teal Symbiote)

Detective Patrick Mulligan (Stephen Graham) is back, but not in the way fans expected. At the end of “Let There Be Carnage,” it seemed he would become Toxin (Carnage’s son in the comics), but the Venom 3 movie revealed that the original symbiotes had left him.

Instead, she is now connected to a new teal, snake-like symbiote in Area 55, under the supervision of Dr. Payne. Through this bond, Mulligan provided crucial information about Knull before meeting her end during Xenophage’s first attack.

3. Agony

The next symbiote in Venom 3 is Agony. In one of the film’s most memorable moments, Dr. Teddy Payne (Juno Temple) connects with Agony, a pink and blue symbiote.

This version has an interesting twist instead of the ability to spew acid like in the comics, this Agony has super speed and lightning abilities, which ties in with Payne’s background of being struck by lightning as a teenager. In the comics, Agony was originally one of the symbiotes of the Life Foundation and recently joined the Thunderbolts.

4. Lasher

Dr. Sadie Christmas (Clark Backo) bonds with what appears to be Lasher, who we can recognize through his red and green colors.

True to its origins from the comics, this symbiote has the ability to create sharp weapons from its hands. At the end of the movie, Lasher dies because the Xenophage eats him.

Interestingly, in the most recent comic (2019’s “Absolute Carnage”), one of Lasher’s hosts is also named Sadie, so this cast selection feels very suitable.

5. Scream

Although brief, there are red and yellow symbiotes that appear with fire-based powers, most likely depicting the figure of Scream.

This is a significant shift from the comics, where Scream is known for his deadly hair tendrils, not the power of fire (especially since symbiotes are usually vulnerable to fire). In Venom 3, this symbiote bonded with a female scientist before falling into the hands of Xenophage.

6. Phage

Next up is a symbiote that looks like it could be a Phage. During the battle at Area 55, a yellow-orange symbiote bonded with a security guard named Jim after he was injured by Xenophage.

Although unnamed in the movie, the appearance of this symbiote is similar to Phage from the comics, one of the original symbiotes of the Life Foundation that is famous for its ability to create deadly sharp weapons.

Finally, the symbiote met its end when Rex Strickland (Chiwetel Ejiofor) launched a rocket during the Xenophage attack.

7. Two-Headed Symbiote

Amidst the chaos in Area 55, two carriers connected with a merged symbiote, creating a unique creature that has two heads. While this could be a reference to the Hybrid from the comics (which is a composite of several symbiotes from the Life Foundation), it seems to be a creation unique to this movie.

8. Knull

Voiced by Andy Serkis, Knull plays the main antagonist in this movie. As the ancient creator of the symbiote, he attempts to obtain the codex inside Eddie’s symbiote to free himself from prison.

Knull first debuted in Marvel Comics in 2018 as a primitive god who hates light and life, and has fought against cosmic beings like the Silver Surfer. Although the symbiotes eventually rebelled and put him down, Knull still wields influence through their collective minds.
