Although there has been no official announcement, currently Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is currently filming in London. THR also reported that there are two new cast additions to the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
The movie Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by director Craig Gillespie, is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, 2026.
1. New Cast of Supergirl Movie: Woman of Tomorrow
According to THR, David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer) and Emily Beecham (Into The Badlands) will play Kara Zor-El’s parents. They are joined by Milly Alcock, who will play Kara, Eve Ridley, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Jason Momoa who will play Lobo.
While it has been confirmed that Krumholtz and Beecham will play Kara’s parents, it is still unclear whether they will be her biological or adoptive parents.
In the comics, Kara Zor-El, who is the cousin of Kal-El aka Superman, was sent to Earth when Krypton was nearing destruction. However, Kara’s journey ran into some problems that led her to arrive on Earth many years later, when Kal-El/Superman was already an adult.
On Earth, Kara was adopted by the couple Jeremiah and Eliza Danvers, so she has two sets of parents: her biological parents, Zor-El and Alura, and her adoptive parents. With the presence of Krumholtz and Beecham, as well as the support of other talented actors, the movie Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has great potential to be one of the DCU’s most successful films.
2. Adapting Comics
The movie “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” adapts the comic series of the same name by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The story follows Kara’s adventures as she explores the galaxy at the age of 21. Along the way, she meets a girl named Ruthye, who asks for Kara’s help in getting revenge on Krem, the man who killed her father.
With the emphasis on the traumas and experiences that Kara went through, the memories of her biological parents would seem to be an important element in the plot of the movie.
Although the movie won’t air until 2026, fans won’t have to wait too long to see this character. Milly Alcock will reportedly make her first appearance as Kara/Supergirl in the Superman movie that releases on July 11, 2025. While it’s unclear how big Kara’s role will be in the movie, her presence is definitely something fans can look forward to.
