Anora has won the 2025 Oscar in the best picture category. Anora synopsis tells the story of a young sex worker’s encounter with a Russian man who changes her whole life.

Anora tells the story of Ani Mikeeva, a young sex worker of Uzbek-American background who lives in Brooklyn.
Ani was a rare stripper because she could speak Russian, so she often served clients from that country. Once, Ani had a client who was the son of a rich Russian oligarch named Vanya.
Vanya then asked Ani to be his girlfriend for a week. During that period, the two began to feel love for each other and eventually decided to share their lives and get married.
Unfortunately, their relationship faces rejection from Vanya’s family, mainly because of Ani’s background as a sex worker. As a result, their relationship is in danger of ending.
In short order, news of Ani and Vanya’s relationship reached Vanya’s parents who lived in Russia. They immediately flew to New York with the aim of separating the couple.
Then, what will be their fate? The movie, directed by Sean Baker, tells the story of Ani’s life journey as she struggles to find her happiness. She is constantly trying to maintain her love with Vanya.

Sean, who also wrote the screenplay and edited the movie, explained that he did this so that the audience could feel the emotions Ani was experiencing at the time.
Anora hits theaters in the United States on October 18, 2024. However, until this article is released, there has been no announcement regarding its release schedule in Indonesia.
However, the movie is currently available for viewing on Apple TV+. With such an impressive showing at the Oscars 2025, there is a good chance that “Anora” will soon be available on streaming platforms such as Netflix, Viu, and WeTV.
