1. Haunted Universities 3 Synopsis
The third movie in the Haunted Universities series continues the theme of the ghosts that inhabit the campus, hence the name. As part of a trilogy, Haunted Universities 3 presents three different stories in one movie that are closely related to life on campus and the various legends and rituals that exist.
Each horror story in the movie is caused by three prohibitions: no making fun of seniors, no taking anything without permission from the shrine, and no taking advantage of the shrine by performing deceptive rituals. The three stories in Haunted Universities 3 are presented in three titles, namely Jao Nang, Phi Tech, and The Invisible Shrine.
Jao Nang
The first story is called Jao Nang. The story follows a girl named Koi (Eisaya Hosuwan) who goes to a sacred temple with her best friend, Hongte (Chatichey Chinnasi). They both hope to receive a blessing from the spirit goddess, but it turns out that the blessing is only given to couples.
Koi and Hongte, who were just friends, tried anyway, but their reckless actions made the goddess spirit angry and planned to take the life of one of them.
Phi Tech
Furthermore, there is a second story titled Phi Tech. This story follows two students, Earth (Jump Pisitpol) and Sun (Ud Awat). Earth is a senior who is not interested in the world of technology, so he often ignores Sun who is a student in the technology department.
What many don’t know is that Sun received a message from a mysterious senior about the course material she was studying. As Sun begins to investigate who sent the message, a series of frightening horror events emerge.
Interestingly, the story in this section was inspired by a true incident that happened in one of Thailand’s leading universities.
The Invisible Shrine
The third story, The Invisible Shrine, tells the story of Wan (Chutavuth Pattarakhumphol) and her best friend Mint (Pearwah Nichaphat Chatchaipholrat). Mint asks Wan to return a wreath at an old shrine, not realizing the consequences they will face.
The horror comes out of the blue. Halay (Mark Siwat) joins Wan and Mint in searching for the shrine that suddenly disappeared to beg for forgiveness.
This horror story is mixed with comedic elements, and is colored by Halloween celebrations on campus with various scary costumes that make it difficult for them to distinguish between ghosts that are real and those that are not.
