Ryan Coogler’s latest movie, Sinners, received a positive response at its premiere. Sinners’ synopsis tells the story of twin brothers of a former gangster who must face the evil supernatural forces in their hometown, namely vampires.
Ryan Coogler made this movie with total creative control, from screenwriting, directing, to production. He managed to combine various genres such as horror, crime drama, romance, blues music, and action in one story that amazed the audience. Not surprisingly, this movie received an almost perfect rating of 99 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
1. Sinners Synopsis
Set in Clarksdale, Mississippi in 1932, “Sinners” tells the story of two twin brothers, Smoke and Stack, who decide to return to their hometown after a difficult life in Chicago. Their reason for returning is to open a blues club that symbolizes hope and freedom for the black community in a time of racial segregation.
With the crime money they got from the gangsters they used to work for, Smoke and Stack bought a saw mill to start a business together with the black people in the area.
They established a public entertainment venue known as the juke joint, which became the center of black community life and culture with live music, dancing, gambling, and bars.
However, on what should be a joyous opening night, things turn into a nightmare when a group of vampires attack. They are led by a mysterious figure named Remmick (Jack O’Connell).
This threat is not only a physical terror, but also a symbol of the oppression and injustice that has long haunted their society.
With the support of their musically gifted cousin Sammie (Miles Caton), and Mary (Hailee Steinfeld), a woman with whom Stack has an emotional connection, together they fight to protect the place they worked so hard to build.

Based on reviews on the Rotten Tomatoes website, the amazing performance of Michael B. Jordan, who plays the dual role of Smoke and Stack, has impressed audiences with his outstanding acting skills.
