Several new cast members have reportedly joined Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson in the cast of The Conjuring 4.
The Conjuring franchise will soon release the final film in the main series that follows the journey of Ed and Lorraine Warren. In addition to a number of spin-offs, the franchise is best known for the three main films The Conjuring featuring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson.
1. Ben Hardy and Mia Tomlinson will be the new cast of The Conjuring 4
According to a report from Deadline, The Conjuring 4 has recruited Ben Hardy. Ben Hardy is best known for his roles in X-Men: Apocalypse and Love at First Sight. In addition, there is Mia Tomlinson known from The Beast Must Die to join the cast.
James Wan is the creator of The Conjuring franchise, but since the second movie, he no longer serves as the director. In The Last Rites, he served as a producer alongside Peter Safran and was also involved as one of the creators of the film’s story.
David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick collaborated with Wan to develop the story, while the latest script was written by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing. Johnson-McGoldrick also wrote an early draft of the screenplay.
Michael Chaves is back in the director’s chair for The Conjuring: The Last Rites, which will be his fourth film in The Conjuring series. Previously, Chaves took over the lead director role from Wan with The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, as well as directing The Curse of La Llorona and The Nun II.
2. Being the Last Movie
As of now, there have been two The Nun movies and three Annabelle movies, each of which has recorded significant revenue for the franchise. It would be surprising if there is no follow-up to either series, even though the main series of The Conjuring has come to an end.
Warner Bros. plans to conclude this tale of paranormal phenomena based on true events with the final film of The Conjuring series, The Conjuring: Last Rites, which will hit theaters on September 5, 2025.
To date, the Conjuring Universe has made over $2.25 billion worldwide, making it one of the most successful horror franchises.
