The Conjuring: Last Rites Synopsis
The Conjuring: Last Rites is set in 1986, five years after the events of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. The film follows Ed and Lorraine Warren as they consider ending their long career as demon hunters.
After years of dealing with various supernatural phenomena, this demonologist couple felt like retiring and living a more peaceful life. However, their plans were interrupted when a family in Pennsylvania, Jack and Janet Smurl, asked for their help.
At first, the Smurl family enjoyed a normal life in their new home until a frightening incident occurred in 1985. A light fixture fell from the ceiling and injured their daughter, Shannon.
Since then, a series of creepy events have been happening to them, like scary screams, weird smells, and even their pet dog being thrown against the wall. Their kids have also been physically attacked.
Jack even reported that he was being harassed by invisible beings. After two unsuccessful attempts at exorcism, they decided to share their experiences with the public, appearing on programs such as Larry King Live and Entertainment Tonight in an effort to find help.
The case then caught the attention of Ed and Lorraine, who concluded that the Smurl family home was inhabited not by one spirit, but four.
Cast List and Broadcast Schedule
In addition to Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, the film also features Mia Tomlinson in the role of Judy Warren, the daughter of the Warren couple, and Ben Hardy as Tony Spera, who will later become her husband.
