The movie “The King of Kings” follows Charles Dickens (Kenneth Branagh) and his son Walter (Roman Griffin). While Charles is reading “A Christmas Carol” on stage, Walter interrupts the performance by playing King Arthur backstage.
As a result, Charles scolded Walter before leaving. In the evening, Charles decides to repair his relationship with Walter. He uses Walter’s interest in the kingly figure on the advice of his wife, Catherine (Uma Thurman).
Charles tells Walter about the life of the greatest King, Jesus Christ. With his talent as a storyteller, Walter, as well as his cat, Willa, embark on an amazing adventure.
Through his extraordinary imagination, Walter listened to the stories of Jesus’ (Oscar Isaac) birth, ministry, suffering, death and resurrection. Slowly, Walter came to know and love Jesus, who became a model King for him.
After contemplating the crucifixion and struggling to accept and understand Jesus’ death, Walter finally found salvation. He learned to understand the meaning of sacrifice. At that time, Walter witnessed the resurrection and also understood the boundless love that Jesus gave, which inspired him to give his life for mankind.
