According to the trailer that GDH 559 shared, the movie will be about competition for an inheritance. The Paradise Of Thorns tells the story of a gay couple named Thongkham and Sek, who have lived together through many hardships.
They bought land and a durian orchard together, but the land was actually in Sek’s name. One day, Sek had a fatal accident while inspecting the durian orchard, which resulted in his death.
Sek’s death caused intense conflict between Thongkham and Sek’s family. Sek’s family demanded that all assets in Sek’s name should be given to his mother because according to the law, Thongkham was only a friend.
Thongkham tried to seek justice, but he lost in court. Thongkham didn’t give up, he did everything he could to get back the land and durian orchards that were rightfully his. The dispute over the ownership of the property became so complicated that there were violent incidents.
