Stories in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have introduced villain characters that will officially appear in Phase 5. For over ten years, the MCU has introduced many interesting comic book characters.

Villain characters that will appear in MCU Phase 5
1. Kingpin
Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, has been confirmed to appear as a villain character in phase 5 of the MCU. He is one of the most popular villain characters. In the Echo series, he was seen surviving the moment of death shown at the end of the Hawkeye series.
Maya Lopez shot Kingpin in the face which led him to believe that Kingpin was dead. Kingpin was an important figure in Maya’s life who raised her. However, Maya learned that her father was killed by Kingpin. At the end of the Hawkeye series, Maya shot Kingpin in the face.
But it looks like Kingpin survived. Although Kingpin is a new villain character in the MCU, his influence is huge in the Hawkeye and Echo series.
He is a figure who controls almost the entire city of New York and his criminal empire even spreads to the corners of America. Kingpin may also appear in the series Daredevil: Born Again.
2. Thaddeus Ross
The next villain to appear in MCU phase 5 is Thaddeus Ros. This character first appeared in The Incredible Hulk in 2008. Played by William Hurt, Ross later reappeared in Captain America: Civil War as the United States Secretary of Defense.
William Hurt played Ross in several Marvel movies such as Avengers: Endgame and Black Widow. However, after he passed away in 2022, Ross’ role was replaced by Harrison Ford.
Ross’ character will return in Captain America: New World Order, and will most likely show his villainous side just like in the comics.
In this story, Thaddeus Ross uses the same serum as the Hulk, but he turns into the Red Hulk. In the trailer that has been released, there is a conflict between Thaddeus Ross and Sam Wilson as the new Captain America.
3. Rio Vidal
One of the villains that will appear in Phase 5 of the MCU is the character that Aubrey Plaza plays. The actress has expressed interest in working with Kathryn Hahn before her MCU debut.
Finally, that wish came true after they both acted in the same series project, Agatha Coven of Chaos.
Previously there were rumors that this actor would play the character of Death, but it turns out that he will play a new character named Rio Vadal in the MCU.
Rio Vadal is said to be a supporting character opposite Agatha Harkness. Rumor also has it that Rio Vadal will be part of the core group of witches in the series.
There is no detailed information about Aubrey Plaza’s character in the Agatha series. Many predict that she will be an evil character, but there are also those who think she will be the protagonist. The Agatha series will reportedly be released in the fall of 2024.
4. Agatha Harkness
The next villain who will appear in Phase 5 MCU is Agatha Harkness. Agatha is a witch involved in Wanda Maximoff’s story in the WandaVision series.
At the end of the first season, it was revealed that Agatha Harkness was an ancient witch who wanted to take power from Wanda aka Scarlet Witch. However, Wanda managed to defeat her in their fight. Agatha’s fate was later answered after Marvel Studios prepared a solo series for her character.
Agatha will return in the Agatha Coven of Chaos series and will introduce more powerful witches. It is not yet known what she will do in MCU Phase 5, but it is rumored that she will have evil intentions and be dealt with by other witches. Fans are eagerly awaiting her appearance.
5. The Hood
Furthermore, the Ironheart series will feature a character named The Hood, who has an interesting history as a villain in the comics.
He has the real name Parker Robbins who was raised by his father who was a subordinate of the Kingpin. Parker Robbins had aspirations of becoming a villain and eventually became one after stealing the devil’s cape.
Parker Robbins gains magic powers and becomes The Hood who terrorizes people. His appearance in the Ironheart series is strange because Ironheart focuses more on science-based powers. The movie will also feature the character Mephisto.
6. The Leader

Sam Wilson will face a conflict with Red Hulk aka Thaddeus Ross in this movie. However, there are no clear clues about The Leader’s character or what conflict Sam will face in the movie.
We still have to wait to see if Sam will face two villains at once and whether Smart Hulk or She-Hulk will help Sam.
7. Lilith
Blade is one of the most anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe films. The movie will introduce a new superhero, Blade, played by Mahershala Ali. Blade is a vampire hunter, and this movie will bring a horror and dark feel to the MCU.
The Blade movie will include a number of terrifying villains, one of which will be played by Mia Goth. The villain character Mia Goth plays is Lilith, who is famous in Marvel Comics.
As the Mother of Demons, she is the ruler of hell and has relationships with several other demons. Lilith has often faced off against Marvel horror characters like Ghost Rider and Morbius. Her conflict with Blade began after Lilith allied with Dracula to rule the world.
