Marvel’s Thunderbolts movie has just launched a teaser trailer on their official YouTube account. With a duration of 3 minutes 25 seconds, this trailer features several characters that will appear in the movie.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe will introduce its first anti-hero team, the Thunderbolts. The team members are a combination of villains and superheroes. They have appeared previously in various MCU projects, including movies and series.
1. Thunderbolts Teaser Trailer
After facing a number of problems and unclear news, Marvel Studios finally announced this project officially at the SDCC 2024 event. They also introduced the cast that will play a role in the movie.
In addition, Marvel Studios premiered the movie trailer exclusively at the event. Now, Marvel Studios has released the first teaser trailer for Thunderbolts*.
This teaser trailer shows the events that happened before the formation of the team. Yelena Belova is seen visiting the Red Guardian. Next, we see the life of Bucky Barnes after the separation from his best friend, Sam Wilson.
Later, other characters like Ghost and Taskmaster also appeared. They all collaborate on the same mission. The teaser also features moments when they come together as a team, such as in an elevator.
2. Official poster
In addition to unveiling the first trailer, Marvel Studios also introduced the official poster for the Thunderbolts* movie which includes the tagline “Be Careful Who You Put Together.”
The trailer doesn’t explain the reason behind the formation of this team and why Val is the one who formed it. Team Thunderbolts* consists of Ghost, John Walker also known as U.S. Agent, Taskmaster, Red Guardian, Yelena Belova, and Bucky Barnes.
They are all united by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, better known as Val.
This film is indeed centered on the meeting of Marvel characters known as villains or Anti Heroes to carry out missions from the United States government. The premise of the story is very similar to DC’s Suicide Squad movie.
Thunderbolts is scheduled to hit theaters on May 2, 2025. The movie features famous actors such as Sebastian Stan, Florece Pugh, and David Harbour, who have previously played villains in other Marvel movies.
The film by director Jake Schreier will also feature Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John Kamen, Wyatt Russell, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
2. Bob is the Sentry?
In this teaser trailer, there is one mysterious character that surprises the audience, Bob. Comic fans already know this character as Bob, who is a Sentry, the strongest soldier with dark powers known as the Void.
Although it does not show the Sentry character in full, the teaser trailer has shown one part of the Sentry’s costume.
Who is Sentry? Sentry is a Marvel superhero who possesses incredible physical strength, similar to Superman in the Marvel universe.
There is evidence to suggest that Bob is a Sentry, as seen from the scene where he is wearing clothes full of gunshot marks. This shows that Bob is able to stop bullets with his body, which clearly shows his strength. So, Bob fits the Sentry character perfectly.
This appearance was also a first in the MCU, raising curiosity and excitement among fans. Bob’s presence raises questions, especially about whether the Thunderbolts team is coming to save him or to confront him.
Marvel comics fans speculate that the Sentry might be the opponent that the Thunderbolts will have to face, although until now there has been no official confirmation from Marvel regarding this news. So we just look forward to the next news.
