Tom Cruise has stated that he will not retire from acting despite being in Hollywood for decades. Tom Cruise even has the ambition to continue starring in movies of various genres, including action, until he is 100 years old.
That doesn’t seem to be an idle remark. Cruise once again proved his commitment to the world of movies. He attended the premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning in New York over the weekend.
The movie is the eighth installment of the Mission: Impossible series and the final mission for Ethan Hunt, who Cruise has played for almost thirty years.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is still under the direction of Christopher McQuarrie, who has worked with Tom Cruise on various projects.
Iconic characters will return alongside Tom Cruise, including Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Henry Czerny, and Angela Bassett. Also, Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, and Greg Tarzan Davis will return after appearing in M:I 7.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will also introduce some new faces, such as Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman, and Janet McTeer.
Tom Cruise wants to continue acting until he’s 100 years old
When he was asked about his retirement plans as he is now 62 years old, he emphasized that he has no intention of retiring. Cruise is ambitious to continue acting until he reaches the age of a century.
“I actually said I wanted to make movies until I was in my 80s; apparently, I now want to do this until I’m 100,” Cruise said, reported by The Hollywood Reporter , which we quoted from CNN Indonesia.
“I will never stop, I will never stop doing action movies, I will never stop doing dramas or comedies-I’m happy,” he adds.
Tom Cruise is reportedly still working on some new projects after finishing his role as Ethan Hunt. He will star in director Alejandro Inarritu’s latest film, although the official title has yet to be revealed.
In addition, the actor is also preparing to continue the development of the Top Gun movie with a third edition. Reportedly, he is also planning a sequel to the movie Days of Thunder.
Meanwhile, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will be the concluding film for the M:I franchise that Tom Cruise stars in. The movie will continue Dead Reckoning Part One (2023), which followed the journey of Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his team in an attempt to thwart the Entity from taking over the world.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning can be seen in Indonesian theaters starting May 21.
