Exciting news for fans of the Peaky Blinders series, as Thomas “Tommy” Shelby and company are set to return to screens. Cillian Murphy returns as the Birmingham gangster leader in the upcoming Peaky Blinders Movie on Netflix, a collaboration with BBC Films.
“It looks like Tommy Shelby still wants to stay with me. It’s exciting to be working with Steven Knight and Tom Harper again on the film adaptation of Peaky Blinders. It’s a lot of fun for the fans,” Murphy told Netflix as quoted by IDN Times.
Peaky Blinder Movie to Continue the Main Series

Peaky Blinders Movie will continue the six-season gangster saga. Set in Birmingham between 1919 and 1934, the movie will explore the dynamics of the Shelby family amidst the social, economic and political changes leading up to the outbreak of World War II.
Tom Harper, who directed several episodes in the first season of Peaky Blinders (2013), will direct the movie. Meanwhile, Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, will write the script.
At the end of the sixth season of Peaky Blinders (2022), Tommy Shelby who has “given up” is back on his white horse to face Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin). Mosley is the man responsible for the deaths of several important members of the Shelby family.
Currently, there is no official synopsis of Peaky Blinders, either from Murphy, Harper, or Knight. Let’s just wait for the latest information from this project.
Barry Keoghan also Joins

It was previously announced that Cillian Murphy will be returning to the role of Tommy Shelby. Apart from Murphy, Rebecca Ferguson has also been confirmed to participate in the movie. Finally, there is the surprising news that Barry Keoghan is also included in the list of confirmed actors.
There are some speculations about the actors from the previous series who might reappear. It is expected that Paul Anderson will return as Arthur Shelby, Sophie Rundle as Ada Shelby, and Tom Hardy as Alfie Solomons.
But to date, Netflix has only announced three cast members who will appear in the movie.

Peaky Blinders Movie will air on Netflix. However, as of now, no official release date has been revealed. Nonetheless, it is likely that production will begin in September 2024 at a new film studio located in Birmingham.
With a stellar lineup and a compelling narrative, it looks like Peaky Blinders will be a spectacular finale to the Shelby family saga.
