Soon, we might get to see the long-awaited sequel to the Chronicles of Riddick. Vin Diesel will definitely be returning to star in one of the series that brought his name to the top of fame.
An official announcement has been made that production on the fourth Riddick movie, titled Riddick: Furya, will begin this year. Diesel will not only be returning in the role of Richard B. Riddick for Riddick: Furya, but will also act as a producer under his One Race Films.

The production of Riddick: Furya will begin on August 26, and the filming locations include Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
Currently, this latest movie has yet to find a distributor in North America and has yet to determine when it will be released. Riddick: Furya is the latest installment in the acclaimed Riddick series, which includes Pitch Black (2000), The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), and Riddick (2013).
The three films have become pop culture icons and have garnered $267 million in revenue from ticket sales theaters.
David Twohy will return as director for Riddick: Furya, continuing his work across the franchise’s series. Ken and Jim Wheat, creators of the Riddick character and screenwriters of Pitch Black alongside Twohy, also contributed to the creation of the character.
Riddick will meet the Furyan race
In this latest installment, Riddick travels to his home planet, a nearly forgotten place that he fears has disappeared. There, he meets his fellow Furyan who are struggling to defend their lives from the threat of a new creature.
The world of Riddick is not just limited to the movie series. So far, it has expanded into various other media such as comics, novels, and video games over the years.
Vin Diesel, the lead actor, has often expressed his desire to explore more of the Riddick universe. He even revealed that there are not only plans for a new movie, but also a spinoff series that he will be starring in.
The Furya project has been in development since 2016, where Diesel has hinted that the movie will reveal the origin story of the main character. As of now, there is no confirmation about other actors or actresses who will be returning to the role.
