The new or second trailer for Mickey 17 has been released. Initially, the movie was set to air in March 2024, until it changed five times before finally becoming official on March 7, 2025.
The film is the work of Academy Award-winning director Bong Joon-ho, and is his first project after his huge success with Parasite. Mickey 17 features an impressive lineup of stars, including Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.
In this movie, Pattinson plays the character Mickey, an “expendable” who is tasked with undergoing dangerous missions and will come back to life every time his body dies in the mission.
1. Mickey 17 New Trailer
In the trailer, we meet Mickey Barnes. Mickey is an “expendable” to carry out dangerous missions. As a result of his work, Mickey is infected with a deadly virus on an alien planet and even loses one of his hands in space.
However, every time Mickey dies, his body is renewed so that he can continue his duties. Problems began to arise when the 17th Mickey discovered another version of himself still alive.
This trailer also features Mark Ruffalo as the antagonist Kenneth Marshall. A cunning and manipulative character, Marshall seems determined to erase both versions of Mickey in order to return things to “normal.”
In one scene, Ruffalo emphatically states, “You are expendable! Your job is to be used!” which emphasizes the cold and brutal nature of this character. The main conflict between Marshall and these two Mickeys forms the core of the story. The focus of the story shows how the two clones struggle to survive.
2. One of the Movies Fans Are Looking Forward to in 2025
This new trailer for Mickey 17 solidifies its position as one of the most anticipated films of 2025. Pattinson manages to give a different feel to each version of Mickey he plays, and his voice fits perfectly into the context of this science fiction-themed dark comedy.
Although Mickey 17 is not similar to Parasite, this could be a plus, as it will further enrich Bong’s impressive career in film and make his works feel unique from others.
With captivating visuals and an immersive story, Mickey 17 is one movie that you must see in theaters when it releases.
With Bong Joon-ho’s exceptional skills as seen in Parasite, it is no surprise that Mickey 17 will provide a unique and unforgettable viewing experience. The movie looks set to be an exciting addition to the director’s lineup of outstanding works.
The Mickey 17 movie not only brings dark humor, but also inserts a very deep emotional element. The song “It’s My Life” in the trailer emphasizes Mickey’s struggle to prove that he is a living being, not just a clone.
This adds an emotional dimension to the movie, presenting a touching story about the right to life in a society that views them as something “only” expendable.
