While no information has been revealed about the fate of Dafne Keen’s X-23 character in Deadpool & Wolverine, fans have speculated that X-23 will be part of the Young Avengers group in the MCU.
Laura Kinney has been a hot topic of conversation lately. This is due to her reappearance in Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) after previously debuting in Logan (2017).
The Young Avengers are a team of young superheroes who have an important role to play in Secret Wars, whose movie will be released in the next few years. Aside from Laura Kinney, who are some of the potential Young Avengers members who have appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to date? Here’s the list!
Young Avengers Candidates
1. Spider-Man

While Spider-Man is a hero who has been fighting alongside the Avengers for a long time, his young age opens up opportunities for him to join the Young Avengers. Moreover, his future prospects in the MCU are still vast.
2. Kate Bishop

The next Young Avengers candidate in the MCU is Kate Bishop. Kate Bishop will clearly be Hawkeye’s replacement in the Young Avengers. This was evident in the Hawkeye (2021) series, where Clint Barton directly trained Kate Bishop to become a skilled archer.
3. Billy Maximoff

Billy Maximoff, who first appeared in the series Wandavision (2021), is the son of Scarlett Witch and Vision. If the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) follows the storyline of the comics, Billy Maximoff could potentially become a member of the Young Avengers with a Wiccan hero identity.
4. Tommy Maximoff

First appearing alongside his brother in the series Wandavision (2021), Tommy Maximoff is also the son of Scarlet Witch and Vision. In the comics, Tommy joined the Young Avengers under the hero name Speed. His powers are similar to his uncle, Quicksilver.
5. Elijah Bradley

Next up is the character of Elijah Bradley, who made his first appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021). Although there has been no official confirmation, many predict that Elijah Bradley will be a potential member of the Young Avengers in the MCU under the hero name Patriot.
6. Shuri

The movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) is a crucial moment for Shuri. She continues her brother T’Challa’s struggle to become the Black Panther. In addition, the movie also marks the beginning of Shuri’s journey as an aspiring member of the Young Avengers.
7. Riri Williams

Riri Williams, who first appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), is a smart girl who has the potential to become a member of the Young Avengers with the nickname Iron Heart. As the name implies, Iron Heart is expected to carry on Iron Man’s legacy of intelligence.
8. Skaar

Next up is Skaar. Skaar is Hulk’s son from Planet Sakaar. He first appeared in She-Hulk (2022) and has a similar physical appearance to his father. Skaar has been confirmed to be Hulk’s successor in the Young Avengers.
9. Kid Loki

The Loki (2021) series presents a variety of unique Loki characters. One of them is Kid Loki, who is the only Loki who managed to defeat Thor. At the end of the series, Kid Loki still survives and is considered a potential candidate to join the Young Avengers.
10. Love

Love is the child of Gorr the God Butcher whom Thor later adopted. At the end of the movie Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), Love can already wield the Stormbreaker weapon. With Thor’s heroic guidance, it’s safe to say that Love is a potential member of the Young Avengers.
11. America Chavez

America Chavez first appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). She has the ability to create inter-dimensional portals, which will be very beneficial in the upcoming Secret Wars. Therefore, America Chavez is a perfect fit to be part of the Young Avengers.
12. Ms. Marvel

Kamala Khan, who appears in her first series, Ms. Marvel (2022), is the first Muslim superhero in the MCU. She has also seen action alongside Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau in The Marvels (2023). We can consider this movie as solidifying Kamala’s status as a potential member of the Young Avengers.
13. Cassie Lang

After making her battle debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023), Cassie Lang has been confirmed to take over her father’s role in Young Avengers. Having similar powers to Ant-Man, Cassie Lang will transform into a superhero by the name of Stature.
14. Laura Kinney (X-23)

In Marvel comics, Laura Kinney is said to have attended Avengers Academy. If the mutant era is really coming as Kevin Feige stated, then there is a possibility that X-23 will join the X-Men and Young Avengers.
Wolverine was not only a key member of the X-Men, but also joined the Avengers. This happened in New Avengers #5 (2005), when Iron Man made Logan an offer of Avengers membership, and he accepted. If the MCU decides to make Wolverine part of the Avengers, there is a possibility that X-23 will also join.
