Ticketmaster Website Attacked by Taylor Swift Fans

The Ticketmaster website was attacked by Taylor Swift fans because Taylor Swift's concert ticket sales were canceled after selling 2 million tickets.

American musician Taylor Swift officially started her new album tour as of this November. Titled The Eras Tour, fans who want to buy tickets for the 32-year-old’s concert can head over to Ticketmaster’s website and find out which cities the “AntiHero” singer will visit.

But recently there was a report that said if the site was down due to the invasion of Swifties (Taylor Swift fans). Which led to the issue being raised on a number of social media. What was the initial chronology? Find out more in the following article.

From a report released by CNN Indonesia. The initial chronology of this problem stems from Ticketmaster’s announcement that Taylor Swift’s concert ticket sales were canceled after selling 2 million tickets. The sale itself was opened on November 15 and closed shortly afterwards.

In a blog post. The manager of the world’s largest concert ticket sales site said more than 3.5 million people pre-registered as ‘Verified Fans‘. Ticketmaster uses this system in order to avoid bots. About 1.5 million people then received presale codes to purchase tickets.

However, Ticketmaster stated that there had been a surprise bot attack along with fans without codes trying to buy tickets. They stated that these conditions caused the system to receive 3.5 billion requests. Or about four times the most sales the company has ever recorded.

It didn’t take long for the Swifties to demand their idols open up and do something after Ticketmaster decided to stop selling tour tickets to the public. It didn’t take long for Taylor Swift to respond to her struggling fans. Even those who could not get tickets for The Eras Tour concert due to Ticketmaster’s server crashing.

Through her Instagram Stories. Swift promised to immediately coordinate with all relevant parties so that she and her fans can be mutually satisfied.

“It’s excruciating for me to see mistakes happen with no recourse. There are many reasons why people had trouble getting tickets and I’m trying to figure out how this situation can be improved in the future. For those who didn’t get tickets, all I can say is that I wish I could have provided more opportunities for all of us to come together and sing these songs,” Swift wrote.

As per CNN’s November 20, 2022 report. Ticketmaster has issued an apology. Both to Taylor Swift & her fans for all the problems that happened. He said that they had tried hard to provide maximum service to prospective buyers.

“We strive to make purchasing tickets as easy as possible for fans. But that wasn’t the case for many people who tried to buy tickets for Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour. First, we would like to apologize to Taylor and all her fans. Especially those who have had bad experiences when trying to buy tickets,” wrote Ticketmaster as quoted by CNN Indonesia.
