9 Strongest Monarchs in Solo Leveling
9. Yogumunt
Yogumunt, also known as the King of Demonic Spectres, is one of Jin Woo’s troublesome enemies.
Yogumunt despises humans, as seen when he refers to Jin-Woo’s father, Sung Il-Hwan, as weak. As proof of his power, he even has the ability to erase existence. However, Yogumunt realized that he could not defeat the Shadow Monarch without the help of Antares, the Monarch of Destruction.
Yogumunt is wise enough to recognize the power of opponents who are superior to him, as was the case in his encounter with Sung Jin-Woo. Due to not having a vessel, he could not show his full power on Earth and could only use ‘Spiritual Body Manifestation.’
Eventually, he met his end at Jin-Woo’s hands after Jin-Woo used the Grail of Reincarnation to turn back time and hunt down all the Monarchs.
8. Tarnak
He is the Monarch of Iron Body, also known as the King of Monstrous Humanoids. Tarnak is one of the few Monarchs who managed to avoid death at the hands of Jin-Woo.
He is overconfident and arrogant, like Yogumunt, and has a disgust and hatred for humans. This is clear from his disapproval of the fact that Jin-Woo is the second Shadow Monarch, because Jin-Woo is merely a human.
Although Tarnak was powerful as Monarch, he realized that he was no match for Jin-Woo without Antares. The strongest techniques she possesses are telepathy and spiritual body manifestation skills, but she does not have a vessel that allows her to fully utilize her powers in the human world.
Tarnak suffered a defeat when he attacked Earth with Antares and tried to kill Thomas Andre who he thought was alone. But surprisingly, he was ambushed by the trio of Beru, Bellion, and Thomas.
7. Legia
Legia, the King of Giants, is the Monarch of Beginning. She has a limited and brief role in the series. Although Legia is cunning and deceptive, she is the first and only Monarch to be captured by the Rulers after the death of Absolute Being.
After being captured and imprisoned, Legia Rulers use as a source of mana for the human world after being detained on Earth.
Although he is a Monarch and is considered stronger than the strongest humans, except Jin-Woo, Legia shows limited strength due to being imprisoned and losing mana for centuries as well as having no container. 5. Querehsha
Querehsha, known as the Insect Queen and one of the nine Monarchs, is a bloodthirsty sadist. Unlike Yogumunt, this Monarch of Plague enjoys killing humans and treating them as prey.
However, towards her subordinates, she had a surprisingly motherly demeanor. As a Monarch, Querehsha possessed tremendous strength and several skills, including necromancy, mana manipulation, regeneration, venom inducement, and spiritual body manifestation.
Querehsha was one of the first Monarchs to die in this series after the death of Christopher Reed and the riots that took place in Seoul.
Although she was convinced that she was stronger than Jin-Woo and downplayed the threat he posed believing that she could defeat him with Beru’s help, she ended up meeting her end quickly by Jin-Woo’s hand.
4. Frost Monarch (Hochwan)
He is the first Monarch introduced in the Solo Leveling series. Unlike other Monarchs, Hochwan is a Monarch who strongly dislikes fighting. However, that doesn’t mean that Hochwan is a good Monarch.
