Toei Animation has announced that the One Piece anime will go on hiatus for six months, starting from October 13, 2024. The series is scheduled to return with new episodes of the Egghead plot in April 2025.
As a substitute during the hiatus period, you can enjoy the remastered version of Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga! as well as special episodes that will be released to celebrate One Piece’s 25th anniversary.
This announcement was made after the airing of the 112th episode, which was the last episode before the long break. Toei also explained that the new version of Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga! will provide a different experience for you, the loyal fans.
This remastered version will be known as One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga, and is scheduled to air from October 27, 2024 to March 30, 2025, with new episodes released every week.
One Piece Anime Hiatus Announcement
This remastered version will feature 21 episodes, in which all scenes are re-recorded and equipped with new animations. In addition, there is an updated visual theme with a more modern style, and all episodes use Dolby Atmos technology to provide more immersive audio quality.
Kitadani Hiroshi will sing the new opening song ” We Go! ” and there will be special guest stars joining the festivities. On the other hand, the closing song “Sailing” (Episodic Version) will be performed by BE:FIRST.
You will also see a special episode titled One Piece Fan Letter with a planned airing on October 20, 2024.
This special episode commemorates the 25th anniversary of One Piece and features the reunion of the Straw Hat crew through the eyes of a young girl who idolizes Nami. The story is set in the Sabaody Islands, taking place after the Paramount War, and provides a fresh perspective for old and new fans alike.

One Piece is an anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga. The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy who wants to become the Pirate King, with the ability of an elastic body due to eating Devil Fruit. This anime first aired on Fuji Television on October 20, 1999.
Originally, Eiichiro Oda planned for One Piece to last only about 5 years and already had an idea of the ending. However, he enjoyed the storyline so much that now he doesn’t know when One Piece will end.
