Sakamoto Days Eps 3 Review, Shin’s Emotions Bring Maximum Action

Sakamoto Days eps 3 starts slowly but closes with a climactic battle that showcases the excellence of this anime animation.

In the previous two episodes, Sakamoto Days introduced the main characters and depicted Taro Sakamoto’s difficulty in overcoming the clash between his old life and the new one. Likewise, in eps 3 of Sakamoto Days, crime still arrives in the midst of the Sakamoto family vacation.

Sakamoto Days may be an anime about everyday life, but the presence of gangs and assassins brings violence into Sakamoto’s married life. If the repentant Sakamoto wants to spend time with his family, his new assistants, Shin and Lu, may have to step in.

In Sakamoto Days eps 3, young assassin-turned-assistant Shin faces a big challenge when he and his mentor spend time at an amusement park. This is where life and death issues arise, and Shin must protect his mentor at all costs.

Whether she can abide by the Sakamoto family’s rules remains a question. Sakamoto Days has a clichéd approach, starting slow but ending thrillingly. The tense action and close-quarters combat in episode 3 make it stand out.

Sakamoto Days Eps 3 Review

Action-packed Fight in Sakamoto Days Eps 3

Sakamoto Days Eps 3
Sakamoto Days Eps 3

Sakamoto Days eps 3 is unhurried and lets the narrative develop naturally. The episode begins with the mystery surrounding the two Sakamoto’s and follows a formula where each episode starts with a boring routine, before eventually picking up the pace of the story.

Lu and Shin set to work organizing the goods in the store, with Lu putting the goods on the shelves and Shin packing them carefully. Their bickering is as funny as a sitcom, until it comes as a surprise when another Sakamoto enters the store while the one inside is being chatty.

The storyline of this anime is very interesting right from the start, but unfortunately it does not develop well. Viewers will realize that all the fight scenes are saved for later use. However, exposition makes the characters know things that only the audience should know.

Sakamoto Days eps 3 takes its time to start catching on. The story gets more serious when Taro and his family arrive at Sugar Park with Shin and Lu. They find out that the price to capture Sakamoto is so high that he has to go into hiding, making their journey a shock.

This episode depicts the difference between Sakamoto having fun with his family and his assistant keeping an eye on the assassins. While amusement parks are supposed to be places of joy, for the characters, they are a source of trouble.

In Sakamoto Days eps 3, viewers were entertained despite the varied emotions on display. Sakamoto faces ridiculous situations, both when defeating assassins with style and in dangerous adventures.

Sakamoto Days Eps 3 Shows Shin’s Shining Action

Shin Asakura
Shin Asakura

Shin Asakura has been a point-of-view character since the first episode, and in episode 3, his eyes witnessed every event that happened. His esper powers are helpful, as the audience doesn’t have to rely on the narrator for information.

Everything that happens can be seen first-hand with Shin mirroring the audience’s emotions perfectly. The episode focused on the relationship between the audience and the characters, giving Shin a more significant role in the plot before the end.

Shin’s transition from deuteragonist to protagonist takes place naturally, while Sakamoto steps back to allow Shin to stand out in the action scenes. Although not direct character development, Shin’s statement about what it means to protect a loved one reflects his empathy.

Taro Sakamoto faces the predicament that triggered this story. He questions why his former boss is pursuing him after all this time, but the episode doesn’t provide many answers. Sakamoto chooses to spend time with his family.

Taro Sakamoto as the quiet protagonist avoids the limelight, which leaves room for other characters like Shin to shine in his first fight scene.

Sakamoto Days eps 3 introduces a new character named Nagumo. He is friends with Sakamoto and his presence brings one of the funniest scenes. In addition, Nagumo also brings important information that increases the tension of the story even more than the previous assassination attempt.

More Detailed Action Animation in Eps 3

Shin Dan Tatsu

Sakamoto Days is at its best when the action scenes are fast-paced and full of emotion. The animation gets better as time goes on, and the fight between Shin and Tatsu is the most satisfying moment of the episode.

The fight scenes succeed thanks to the animation quality, which is on par with the Sakamoto and Hee Brothers’ fight in eps 2. Fast frames and flashy movements increase the tempo and intensity, featuring not only kicks and punches, but also realistic martial arts moves, making the fights feel fresh.

Sakamoto Days features detailed and realistic illustrations, starting with the accurate atmosphere of the convenience store. This closeness to reality makes the martial arts scenes feel very real.

Sakamoto Days eps 3 features a beautiful spread of colors despite the detailed background. Half the story takes place in an amusement park, where the color palette reflects the smiles and excitement of the visitors. The anime manages to bring the black-and-white pages of the original manga to life with bright and striking colors.

That’s Sakamoto Days eps 3 anime review that offers more than just fights. This episode presents humor and familiarity between characters, but the story feels dense so that emotional moments lack impact.

Even so, the animation of the fights remains mesmerizing. Overall, Sakamoto Day eps 3 lives up to fans’ expectations, making it a success for the action anime genre.
