So Eiichiro Oda explains some past plot twists to reveal how Roronoa Zoro came to be born in East Blue, and has ties to Wano. According to Oda’s explanation, 55 years ago Shimotsuki Kozaburo created Wado Ichimonji and Enma.
This enma was gifted to Oden when he was four years old. At the same time Kozaburo traveled to East Blue along with 25 other people. Among the group was Shimotsuki Furiko who was Ushimaru’s older sister.
Long story short, the group arrived in East Blue and they managed to save a village from bandit attacks. Ten people from the group decided to settle in the place and founded the village of Shimotsuki.
Eiichiro Oda explained that the Kuina family tree originated from Shimotsuki Kozaburo who married a village girl and gave birth to Shimotsuki Koushiro. Then Shimotsuki Koushiro married and had a child named Kuina.
As for Zoro’s family tree, Shimotsuki Furiko, Zoro’s grandmother married the swordsman Roronoa Pinzoro and had a child named Roronoa Arashi. Well Arashi married Tera and their child is Roronoa Zoro.
Rorona Zoro Descendant of Ryuma
