For those of you who don’t know, the Jujutsu Kaisen anime season 2 episode 13 has been released. In that episode, we can see Yuji’s efforts to reach Gojo Satoru’s place which is currently sealed. But in the middle of the journey he met Choso and they fought. Interestingly the Choso vs Yuji fight scene was inspired by the movie The Raid 2.
Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese Shounen manga by Gege Akutami that was released in March 2018.
Choso vs Yuji Scene Inspired by The Raid 2
As we mentioned earlier, in season 2 episode 13, Yuji entered the subway station and he tried to reach the place where Gojo was sealed. But in the middle of the journey he met Choso.
When he saw Yuji, Choso immediately attacked without thinking and like his younger siblings, Choso also used blood manipulation techniques. Now the most interesting thing about the scene is when Choso and Yuji fight in the toilet.
If we notice the horses they use are similar to the horses in the movie The Raid 2. This has also been confirmed by Gege Akutami in the Jujutsu Kaisen Fanbook. Gege said, when she was in college, she heard of Indonesian movies that were popular in her neighborhood.
The movie was The Raid, from there Gege began to be interested in the martial arts movements used by the characters in the movie, namely martial arts Silat. Not only that, the reason Gege included the stance from the movie was because he saw Tatsuki Fujimoto.
For those of you who don’t know, Tatsuki Fujimoto is the mangaka who created the manga Chainsaw Man. Tatsuki also apparently included the same scene in the Chainsaw Man manga chapter 62, when Quanxi fought Yoshida.
The scene that the two mangaka adapted comes from the movie The Raid 2 where Rama vs The Assassin in the kitchen.
