What Are the Epilogues in the Last Jujutsu Kaisen Manga?
Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga officially ended on September 30, 2024 with chapter 271 published in Shonen Jump. The epilogue is available in volumes 29 and 30, published on December 25, 2024, which features four characters, Yuko Ozawa, Nobara Kugisaki, Panda, and Uraume.
1. Yuji and Ozawa Enjoy a Snowy Day
The first story in the epilogue of Jujutsu Kaisen tells the story of Yuji Itadori who returns to Sendai City, his hometown, to inherit his deceased grandfather’s house after he moved to Tokyo earlier in the story.
While at the station, she meets Ozawa, a former classmate who has loved her for a long time. Coincidentally, Yuko is also returning to Sendai City to help her parents move her grandmother to a nursing home.
Ozawa had been thinking about Itadori for months after their brief encounter that strangely did not appear in season 1. When Ozawa asked about his life, Itadori said that he was fine and revealed that he was in Shibuya during the battle against Kenjaku’s henchmen in season 2.
This revelation creates tension between the two characters, but it soon dissipates as they talk about their fondness for snow. Ozawa shows determination, hinting that she may have revealed her feelings.
2. Nobara Family Revealed
The second story follows Nobara who, after reading the letter from Gojo, realizes the possibility of her death at the hands of Sukuna. She decides to visit her mother, who introduces herself in a mocking tone and asks why her daughter has come after so many years.
Nobara in his typical, slightly haughty manner stated that he did not plan to return with her, but rather wanted to fulfill his teacher’s last request.
Her mother continued to insult Nobara, expressing her jealousy of her daughter’s talent as a witch. Nobara gets angry and responds that the only skill her mother lacks is being a parent.
Eventually, Nobara gives in to her mother, realizing that her mother will never change. She then greeted her grandmother, a scary old woman with a stern face who stared intently at her daughter.
3. Pandas become Relics of the Gojo Clan
In the year 2080, a pair of siblings discover a relic in the Gojo Clan compound. The sister is happy to see a cute stuffed panda, but her brother warns her to be more careful, given that their grandfather, Yuta Okkotsu, calls it an ancient treasure.
The animal is none other than Panda, who became inactive after the Culling Games and finally decided to retire in 2035. At the end of the story, the bear ponders whether the children are really Yuta’s grandchildren.
4. Origin of Uraume
The epilogue reveals the origin of Uraume’s affection for Sukuna, the series’ best villain. As a child, Uraume could not control her ice powers, which was fatal to her parents. Ryomen, who was interested in her abilities, initially used her as an ice storage for food, but later chose to train her.
During the last panel, Uraume asks her employer why she never feels cold when she is next to him. Sukuna jokingly replies, questioning why Uraume doesn’t feel unloved when around someone so cruel and heartless as herself.
The final chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen may not be the most revolutionary, but it does manage to give fans some satisfaction. The fates of beloved characters are revealed in Jujutsu Kaisen’s epilogue and some unsolved issues are finally resolved. It serves as a loving reminder of the series’ appeal that fans will remember for years to come.
