April will be a very exciting time for One Piece fans, who can finally look forward to the continuation of the Egghead part 2 anime arc after the announcement of the long break in October 2024.
Toei Animation announced the return of the One Piece anime by continuing the Egghead arc during the One Piece Day celebration in Dallas, Texas. In addition, new episodes of Egghead Part 1 will be released with English dubbing, and episodes 1109-1122 are scheduled to premiere on Crunchyroll on March 18, 2025.
One Piece Anime Hiatus Flashback

On October 13, 2024, Toei announced a six-month delay for the Egghead storyline in the One Piece TV series. In its place, a remastered version of the Fish-Man Island storyline will air with new visuals. In addition, Crunchyroll will also air One Piece Specials 14, 15, and 16 on March 18.
The decision to delay the anime adaptation of the Egghead storyline was not an easy one. The six-month delay cost One Piece its airtime slot on Fuji TV that had lasted nearly two decades. The move was made to maintain the quality of the animation and to give creator Eiichiro Oda room to produce more material, so that Toei Animation would not rush to catch up with the manga.
Oda is also involved in the production of Season 2 of the One Piece live-action series for Netflix. In addition, the manga experienced a pause in the release of new chapters, and Oda apologized for this, although fans put Oda’s health first.
