The news about Naruto live action has recently become the talk of the town. After the success of One Piece live action and great support from Eiichiro Oda, Masashi Kishimoto also seems not to want to miss this opportunity.
Lionsgate Motion Picture Group is rumored to be producing a Naruto movie. Destin Daniel Cretton, director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, will be involved in this project. This news comes as a surprise to Naruto fans, as Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto, has given his approval for this project.
Naruto Anime Will Be Adapted into Live Action
Lionsgate has signed an agreement with Destin Daniel Cretton to adapt the popular manga Naruto into a live action movie. Adam Fogelson, Chairman of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, revealed that the live action adaptation will be based on the manga by Masashi Kishimoto.
The manga has achieved tremendous success on a global level, with sales exceeding 250 million copies in over 60 countries and territories. Destin Daniel Cretton is excited about the opportunity to work with Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto.
Masashi Kishimoto also welcomed Cretton’s appointment as director of this film. According to him, Cretton is the right choice to direct Naruto’s live action adaptation. Kishimoto believes that Cretton’s ability to work on live action dramas will provide an important emotional dimension to Naruto films.
Daniel Cretton will team up with Jeyun Munford through their company, Hisako, to work on the Naruto movie. They will join Avi Arad, Ari Arad, and Emmy Yu at Arad Productions as producers.
An LA adaptation of the Naruto manga has been in development by Lionsgate since late 2015. Cretton’s presence marks a significant step forward in presenting Naruto and its story in LA form.
