10 Strongest Characters in Sakamoto Days Stories

Here are ten of the strongest characters in the Sakamoto Days series, and you'll soon see them in action in the anime adaptation.

The manga series Sakamoto Days has now officially gotten an anime adaptation produced by TMS Entertainment, and the first trailer has been released. The Sakamoto Days adaptation signals that the anime world may soon see the birth of another incredible franchise, with some of the strongest characters in the story.

Being one of the top 10 best-selling manga released this decade, Sakamoto Days chronicles the life of Taro Sakamoto, a former assassin who is a master of his craft. His immense popularity earned him both hatred and admiration from his peers.

One day, everything changed when he fell in love and decided to retire. Now, as a fat shopkeeper with a family, threats from the past begin to resurface, threatening the life he has built.

The Strongest Characters in Sakamoto Days

The series is a comedy, but features characters with significant powers. Some of them, including Sakamoto, defy the logic of strength and power. Here are some of the strongest characters in Sakamoto Days.

10. Osaragi

Osaragi
Osaragi

Osaragi is the newest member of the Order, the most powerful group of assassins in the Japanese Assassins Association. She is portrayed as childish, impulsive, and prone to acting without thinking, as well as apathetic to those around her.

The skill and power of an assassin in the Order is unquestionable. His battle against Dump, an A-ranked assassin who had killed 180 people, further proved his abilities as he managed to defeat Dump quickly.

Although Osaragi has obvious strengths, his placement is still justified because he has never fought an evenly matched opponent and does not need to fight hard in a fight.

9. Kanaguri

Kanaguri

Kanaguri, often underestimated for his silliness, is actually a secret member of Kei Uzuki’s antagonistic organization and a former member of the Order, who demonstrates impressive assassin skills. He is also famous for his fanatical approach to movie making.

A passionate filmmaker, Kanaguri is passionate about this art, even to an obsessive degree. He can become quite obsessive when trying to record moments that he deems important.

Kanaguri, a former member of the Order and Japan’s most powerful assassin character in the Sakamoto Days series, has extraordinary abilities connected to his camera and his love for filmmaking. He becomes demoralized when his camera is destroyed.

Kanaguri was surprised when he fought against the fat Sakamoto. He was able to fight casually and even parry Sakamoto’s attacks. When Sakamoto transformed into a slender form, Kanaguri was still a match for him, and only retreated after declaring that he would rather die as he saw fit.

8. Satoru Yotsumura

Satoru Yotsumura

Yotsumura, one of the founders of the Order, is a character who never appeared in the series while at the height of his powers. Although he is now fighting the JAA, his background in the Order shows the great potential he has. Youtsumura is a quiet figure who is always calm, even in the face of three members who intend to kill him, including his former student, Shishiba.

Yotsumura was an extremely powerful assassin, using a three-edged staff as his weapon. He was able to fend off Shishiba and Nagumo’s attacks simultaneously, but lost when Osaragi joined the fight.

Yotsumura was a highly skilled melee fighter with reflexes and speed on par with Nagumo, despite his age. However, he did not advance in rank due to an easy loss to Shishiba, despite surviving the fight.

7. Kindaka

Kindaka, a founding member of the Order, is recognized as the fastest assassin in the series. In Taro Sakamoto’s Past Arc, Nagumo and Sakamoto cannot match Kindaka’s speed. Although he looks relaxed, his calmness helps in understanding his opponent and the situation around him.

Kindaka, a former member of the Order, is renowned as one of the most powerful assassins in JAA history. His main strength comes from his incredible speed, though he is currently unable to reach his top speed due to a back injury. Even so, his current speed is still enough to beat his rivals, although age is a challenge.

6. Shishiba

Shishiba, one of the strongest assassins in the Order, was once Yotsumura’s protégé. Before joining the Order, he was known as a rogue assassin who did as he pleased. Shishiba applied a mentorship approach similar to his former teacher to Osaragi. He showed an indifferent attitude, not caring about anything or anyone.

Shishiba believes in the simplicity of life, which is reflected in his choice of weapon, a pair of hammers. He is one of the strongest assassins in the Order and can become even stronger if he changes his mindset about his mission.

Shishiba is a great fighter with incredible speed and reflexes. He was able to kill Kashima, a top-ranked member of Slur, without realizing it. However, what made him make this list was his defeat against Yostumura, despite his great potential as an assassin.

5. Gaku

Gaku

Gaku is one of the young assassins in the series who works together with Slur. He grew up in an orphanage that mimics the assassins of Order members and is part of the X organization.

Gaku’s character has a relaxed and nonchalant attitude, such as when he eats snacks and uses the restroom in the middle of battle. Despite his calm demeanor, he is also very cold and ruthless, as evidenced by his slaughter of hundreds of JAA members in a casual manner.

Gaku has the highest potential skills and abilities in the series. He is one of the strongest characters in Sakamoto Days, surviving the fight against Takamura despite losing an arm and an ear.

Gaku’s physical strength is incredible, even surpassing Nagumo, and his speed is on par with Nagumo. Despite already facing off against the strongest members of the Order, Gaku still has a lot of room to improve.

4. Yoichi Nagumo

Nagumo is the main supporting character in the series and an old friend of Sakamoto. He is the strongest assassin in the Order, only behind Takamura. Nagumo is famous for the smile that always adorns his face and his carefree attitude that often annoys others.

He is very deceptive and believes that the key to killing is to use trickery, which allows him to disguise himself and deceive his opponents quickly.

Nagumo, despite his lowly appearance as an assassin, has exceptional combat skills. His thin body doesn’t diminish his strength; he is extremely fast and is able to defeat Minimalists in no time. His fierce battle against Gaku also ended in victory, showing just how strong he is.

3. Kei Uzuki

strongest characters in the Sakamoto Days
Kei Uzuki

Kei Uzuki is the main antagonist in the series and the leader of Slur, who has great ambitions to destroy the JAA. He is known as the villain who slaughtered a quarter of the assassin industry in Japan, indicating that he is one of the strongest killers in the story.

Uzuki initially appears calm and cool, but his complex personality breaks down when he is with loved ones. This caused him to develop Dissociative Identity Disorder, where he creates a new personality when faced with extreme stress and experiences.

Uzuki has a keen intellect and exceptional physical abilities, on par with Sakamoto in terms of reflexes. He once defeated Takamura, who was considered an anomaly by the Order members. Uzuki prefers to use a sword-whip, but recently took a katana from Takamura after winning. This battle was one of the main reasons for his placement.

2. Taro Sakamoto

strongest characters in the Sakamoto Days
Taro Sakamoto

Taro Sakamoto is the main character of the series, known as “The Greatest Hitman of All Time.” After retiring, he now manages a convenience store and cares deeply for his family, which was his reason for leaving the world of killing.

Sakamoto, a former Order member and assassin, is known as the greatest assassin with extraordinary abilities. Although his strength may have diminished after retirement, he still has enough ability to maintain his reputation.

Sakamoto was a very strong and fast hand-to-hand fighter, able to defeat tough opponents such as Shishiba and Nagumo. Despite being retired, his incredible skills still earn him respect.

1. Takamura

strongest characters in the Sakamoto Days
Takamura

Takamura is the Order’s strongest character in Sakamoto Days stories and is considered an anomaly among JAA assassins. Despite his frail and short appearance, he is an elderly man who rarely speaks clearly, often only whispering unintelligible words. He acts on instinct, even killing without hesitation, such as the time he split open a minivan of his comrades over a fly.

In his old age, Takamura is still considered the strongest hitman in the series. He easily defeated Gaku in battle, although Gaku survived with the loss of an arm, an ear, and two fingers. Takamura, a master swordsman, prefers to use a katana because his skills have been honed to the highest level.

Despite his age, Takamura retains impressive physical strength and only one character has been able to survive his direct attacks. In addition to strength, Takamura also has an unusual sense of justice for a hitman and is loyal to his allies.

Those are the ten strongest characters in the Sakamoto Days series. You’ll see them in action in the anime adaptation soon. Hope this helps!
