The Strongest Villains in the Dandadan
11. Serpoian
Serpoians are the first alien species encountered by the protagonists in Dandadan. They are male clones with stalled evolution due to their biological structure. To solve this problem, they steal human reproductive organs. The conflict between the Serpoians and the heroes occurs because of their desire to take Okarun’s “banana”.
In Dandadan, Serpoians are fearsome villains with advanced technology and large numbers. However, Rokuro Serpo is different. She is the only Serpoian who managed to break free from the collective mind of her people. Now, Rokuro chose to join the heroes and live on Earth as a convenience store clerk.
10. Keluarga Kito
The next strongest villain in Dandadan is the Kito Family. First debuted in the Cursed House arc, the Subterraneans are a mysterious race of creatures whose role in the story has not been revealed to date.
The only known Subterraneans in the series are the Kito family – the “protectors” of the mountain village who have been performing human sacrifices to Tsuchinoko for the past 200 years.
The Kito family is an evil group that hides their heinous acts behind the pretext of protecting the village. They secretly sacrifice children to Tsuchinoko, the Mongolian Death Worm, to prevent a volcanic eruption. They became arrogant and abused their status as protectors of the village.
The heroes finally manage to kill Tsuchinoko and make them the mortal enemies of the Subterranean leader, Naki Kito. But the threat that Momo and Okarun will face from Naki Kito is still a mystery.
9. Earthbound Spirit Crab
The Earthbound Spirit Crab is a spirit figure that appeared in the tunnels of Shono City, as a result of the murder of a number of innocent girls. This spirit takes the form of a giant freshwater crab and remains at the location until Turbo Granny discovers it.
With speeds reaching 100 Km/h, Granny managed to calm the spirit, and afterward, the two merged into a single entity. The Earthbound Spirit Crab then serves as Turbo Granny’s protector, and they fight together against Momo and Okarun, who eventually manage to drive them away with the help of Seiko Ayase.
8. Yokai Onbusuman
The next most powerful villain in Dandadan is the Yokai Onbusuman. While many people are unaware of the existence of spirits, they often interfere in people’s lives in dangerous, even life-threatening ways. This is the case for Rin Sawaki, the Okarun class president, who is trapped under the curse of the yokai Onbusuman.
The Onbusuman is a dangerous spirit that attaches itself to its victim’s back, adding weight to the body and destroying it. This yokai targets people who feel guilty and sad.
Fortunately, Rin managed to reconcile with Onbusuman’s true identity, that of Mai Kawabanga, her childhood friend who died in an accident. This peace transforms Onbusuman into a guardian spirit who gives Rin strength and protection.
7. Acrobatic Silky
Throughout her life, Acrobatic Silky was a single mother who was trapped in poverty and forced to sacrifice herself. Despite the hardships she faced, her love for her daughter was immense and she struggled to make ends meet.
However, when debt collectors took her daughter, she chose to end her life by jumping off a building. Although Acrobatic Silky plays the villain, the tragic background of her life makes it difficult for readers not to feel sympathy for her.
6. Fairy-Tale Card
Fairy-Tale Card is the main antagonist in the Danmanra arc of Dandadan. It has been trapped in the diorama world for years until it was accidentally freed by Momo and Unji Zuma. Fairy Tale Cards are the embodiment of pure evil, and have unique abilities that make them interesting.
The Fairy Tale Card has the ability to alter the painful memories of its targets, so that it can take control of their minds and bodies. In this way, it can draw out the maximum spiritual potential from its victims and force them to fight according to its will.
While not as emotionally complex as some of the other villains in Dandadan who are easier to understand, Fairy Tale Card remains an interesting antagonist thanks to its unique concept and abilities.
5. Evil Eye
The Kito family once held a very thin child captive and denied him food, with the intention of sacrificing him to Tsuchinoko. Despite being in such a horrible situation, the child still had hopes of being able to play with other children, even if only once in his life. Unfortunately, his hopes were never realized as he was sacrificed soon after.
After dying, the boy evolved into a yokai called Evil Eye. Over the years, she saw many sacrifices of children and developed a deep hatred for humans. When she was finally free, Evil Eye was determined to take revenge and wipe out all humans.
Although not a major ally, Evil Eye made a deal with Okarun as a sparring partner, which slightly reduces her threat and brings out her playful side. With his incredible strength and humorous obsession with killing, he is an entertaining character.
4. Kur
Dandadan’s next strongest villain is Kur of the Alien species. The Space Globalists arc has been the most remarkable and impactful arc in Dandadan to date. This is due to the role of the main antagonists, namely Kur.
Known as the space globalists, the Kur are an army of armed aliens who spread their influence by conquering planets across the universe. They are a cruel race with no sense of humanity. Kur is also responsible for the destruction of the planet Sumer, which was once the peaceful home world of Vamola.
Among all the villains the heroes have faced in this series, Kur is the most terrifying. In fact, the small Advance Unit almost managed to defeat the protagonists in a surprise attack.
With an advanced exosuit and an extremely ruthless attitude towards anyone who gets in the way, Kur is a figure who could bring about the destruction of Earth.
3. Count Saint-Germain
In Dandadan, most villains only appear in one arc, unless they become allies of the protagonist. However, Count Saint-Germain is an exception as the main antagonist that connects the storylines. He is an alien with an interest in the strange and supernatural, and has the ability to steal the powers of others if they admit defeat.
While its true purpose has yet to be revealed, it’s clear that Count Saint-Germain is planning something much bigger than anything the heroes have faced before.
More interestingly, Count Saint-Germain is the only character who understands Dandadan, the mysterious phenomenon that is the title of the series. Through this character, readers will most likely discover the secret behind the phenomenon.
2. Turbo Granny
Next there is Turbo Granny who is the main ally in this Dandadan story. Turbo Granny is a legendary Yokai known for her incredible speed. She usually appears as an old granny who can run up to 100 km/h.
Turbo Granny has the ability to curse anyone who loses a race against her. She can take over her opponent’s body and force them to transform into a version of herself. Turbo Granny is one of the strongest and earliest Yokai in Shono City, especially when she collaborates with Earthbound Spirit Crab.
She has a soft side that is rarely shown, where she helps the spirits of women who have been killed find peace. After joining the protagonists, Turbo Granny becomes an invaluable source of supernatural knowledge for them.
1. Reiko Kashima
Reiko Kashima is the most powerful yokai in Dandadan lore to date. She is such a terrifying spirit that even Seiko, an experienced medium, warns against disturbing her. Reiko has a handheld mirror that holds a pocket dimension, a trap that is difficult to avoid.
Reiko is a vengeful character who continues to terrorize Momo throughout the Space Globalists story arc. Her presence creates some of the most tense moments of horror in Dandadan.
Despite inadvertently contributing to helping the heroes as well as the rest of humanity by holding back the Kur forces attacking Earth inside her mirror, the process of freeing Reiko from the bonds of her hatred is extremely difficult. The influence of this seemingly trivial antagonist on the storyline is significant and unforgettable.
