The Unanswered Mystery of One Piece Egghead Arc
1. What happened in God Valley?
The first unanswered One Piece mystery is the God Valley Incident. This incident was first mentioned by Sengoku during the story in the Wano Arc. The incident, which occurred 38 years ago, involved a number of legendary characters, including Rocks D. Xebec, Gol D. Roger, and Monkey D. Garp. After the story moves to the Egghead Arc, we learn that the God Valley Incident has a connection to Bartholomew Kuma’s past.
Unfortunately, there is no further explanation of what happened after the God Valley Incident. Until now, the story has only described how the incident began.
We still don’t know how Roger and Garp managed to defeat Rocks, and Figarland Garling’s role in the incident remains a mystery.
2. Ancient Robot Attack on Mary Geoise?
In the Egghead chapter, we are told that 200 years ago, Mary Geoise was attacked by an ancient giant robot called the Iron Giant. Until now, it is still unknown how the robot was able to reach Mary Geoise. In fact, who is the real owner of the Iron Giant is also still an enigma.
Iron Giant uses an energy source unknown to Vegapunk. Currently, the Iron Giant is under Egghead’s control and managed to revive after Luffy used the Fifth Gear. Does this indicate that there was a more advanced civilization before the World Government was established?
3. Why did Nefertari D. Lily betray the World Government?
As Cobra talks to Gorosei, there is one name that reveals a big thing in this series, which is Nefertari D. Lily. Through Lily, we finally learn that the Nefertari family is descended from D. Previously, Lily was one of the 20 People who founded the World Government.
However, she violated the World Government’s trust and was responsible for the spread of the Poneglyphs. This is why the Nefertari family did not gain World Nobility status even though their ancestor was one of the 20 Founders.
Lily’s appearance in this series further reinforces the fact that D.’s descendants are the natural enemies of the World Government.
4. Monkey D. Dragon’s past
After keeping a mysterious identity for over 20 years, Dragon finally has a significant role in the Egghead Arc.
In this arc, it finally reveals how Dragon started the Revolutionary Army. Not only that, the story also provides a little information about Dragon’s background.
Dragon is known to be a confirmed former member of the Marines. However, he chose to leave the Navy because he felt there was no justice there. Unfortunately, little is revealed about Dragon’s past in this series.
5. What happened to Garp?
After Koby is kidnapped by Blackbeard, Garp immediately leads his troops to Hachinosu. There, he meets up with his former apprentice, Kuzan, and a battle erupts between the Navy and Blackbeard’s Pirates.
In the end, we see Garp being attacked by Shiryu with a stab. This incident occurred when Garp was trying to hold off his enemy so that his men could escape. In a helpless state, Garp was then seen frozen by Kuzan. As of now, no one knows whether Garp is still alive or not.
As long as the One Piece series continues, there will continue to be unrevealed mysteries within it. As fans, we can only be patient and see how the story slowly reveals these mysteries.
So, do you have any theories about the five mysteries we’ve reviewed above?
