Many fans have been discussing who should play the character of Dr. Kureha in season 2. This discussion is based on Eiichiro Oda ‘s hint that season 2 will adapt the Drum Island arc and introduce Tony Tony Chopper.

Netflix’s official One Piece Twitter account has announced the cast of Dr. Kureha for season 2 of the upcoming One Piece live action. The actress chosen is Katey Sagal, who is known from her roles in series like Sons of Anarchy and Futurama. In addition, Netflix also revealed that Dr. Hiruluk will be played by Mark Harelik, who has appeared in the series Preacher.
Jamie Lee Curtis Was a Strong Candidate

Famous Hollywood actress Jamie Lee Curtis was once a candidate for the role of Dr. Kureha. Jamie Lee Curtis’ great desire to play a doctor in Drum Island or Sakura Kingdom was one of the reasons why many fans felt she was a perfect fit for the character. However, unfortunately, she was not chosen to play the character.
Back in July, Deadline conducted an interview with Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios regarding the casting of Dr. Kureha. She stated that Curtis is an amazing actress. The reason why Jamie Lee Curtis was unable to play Dr. Kureha was due to a conflict in production schedules. The executive producer also expressed his disappointment regarding this situation.

A few days ago, Eiichiro Oda delivered a message about the second season of One Piece live action project. One of the points Oda conveyed was about which arcs will appear in the next season.
In this case, Oda reiterated that Drum Island will be one of the arcs taken up. The second season of the live action One Piece is scheduled to air in 2025.
