Although there is currently a bit of boredom with the MCU, one thing that all fans must agree on is the return of Matt Murdoch in the series Daredevil: Born Again. Now we have the official trailer for Daredevil: Born Again from Disney. The trailer itself was released less than two months before its release on March 4, 2025.
The series will continue and update the story that was previously very popular on Netflix. Charlie Cox will return as Matt Murdock or Daredevil, alongside Vincent D’Onofrio who will play Wilson Fisk or Kingpin, as well as several other actors from previous versions.
1. Daredevil: Born Again Trailer
In the feature-length trailer released on Wednesday, viewers get another taste of the dark atmosphere of Hell’s Kitchen, with new threats and deepening conflicts.
Daredevil: Born Again will deliver the suspenseful action that fans have been waiting for, depicting Matt Murdock’s fight against his arch-nemesis Kingpin in a city filled with danger.
There are many characters present, from the (temporarily) retired Matt Murdoch to the Kingpin who is now the mayor, albeit still a brutal one. We also see the return of Foggy and Karen.
In addition, there is one returning veteran character, Frank Castle, the Punisher, who looks even crazier than usual. There are rumors that he might get his own series in the future, or at least a revival of his old show.
We can infer from the trailer that Disney does allow MA-rated content to stick to the original Netflix series.
If Castle is already present in this first trailer, there are likely to be other interesting cameos that may be present, both from the MCU and from other veteran Netflix characters. Not to forget, we can also see the return of Bullseye even though he only appears briefly.
2. Keeping the Dark Aspect of Daredevil
The production process of “Born Again” took a while after Marvel Studios regained the rights to the Daredevil character from Netflix. At first, the series was going to be a legal drama with a bit of action and violence.
However, thanks to the encouragement of fans and the hard work of Cox and D’Onofrio, the project is finally heading in a direction that is more in line with people’s expectations.
Charlie Cox stated that the dark element in Daredevil is a very important identity and should not be lost.
“The success of the series lies in its dark and cynical approach. We’re committed to ensuring that Born Again remains a show for mature audiences and doesn’t oversimplify the story to appeal to a larger audience,” Cox said in an interview.
“I think this series is even darker than a lot of the projects we’ve worked on before,” he concluded.
