The first look at Nicolas Cage’s costume as Spider-Noir has now been revealed. Sony continues to expand its Spider-Man universe with the launch of new movies, such as Venom: The Last Dance which just hit theaters, and Kraven the Hunter which will hit theaters in December.
However, the studio’s plans for Marvel properties aren’t just focused on theaters. Sony is also developing several live-action series for Prime Video. As we know, Nicolas Cage as the lead of Spider-Noir, will be the first in the series.
1. First Look at the Spider-Noir Costume
TMZ has just released the first photos and video of Nicolas Cage’s appearance as Spider-Man Noir in the upcoming series, Spider-Noir.
In the photos, Cage is seen wearing the iconic Spider-Man Noir costume consisting of a fedora hat, raincoat, and glasses that have become the character’s trademark, just as he wore in both Spider-Man animated films in the Spider-Verse franchise.
Several images and on-set footage show our hero on top of a car in a fast-paced chase scene. Spider-Man Noir is seen using his web to jump over buildings to stop oncoming cars.
2. Will Release 2025
As of now, we have very little official information about the Spider-Man Noir series project, except for the news that it will be released in 2025.
However, in the official synopsis, it is mentioned that the series will be set in 1930. A not-so-famous detective fights against himself, as he is the only hero in the city.
In addition, there is news that the figure behind the Spider-Man mask in this series will have a different identity from what we know so far. Spider-Man Noir in this version is not an alternative to Peter Parker.
According to rumors, the person wearing the mask is a clone of Peter, Ben Reilly. Prime Video will also not include the name Spider-Man in the title, choosing instead to refer to the series as Spider-Noir.
Despite these changes, an early look at Spider-Man Noir in action suggests that the hero will live up to expectations, which is a positive sign.
