In a special live broadcast event celebrating five years of the anime Jujutsu Kaisen, Crunchyroll announced the release date for season 3. As part of the release date announcement, they also released the first teaser trailer, giving a glimpse of what’s to come.
Animation studio MAPPA is officially returning for the third season. Shota Goshozono will return as director, while Hiroshi Seko will handle series composition and scriptwriting.
The anime series Jujutsu Kaisen is adapted from the manga by Gege Akutami, which aired for the first time from October 2020 to March 2021, with Sunghoo Park as director at MAPPA studio.
Sunghoo Park also directed the anime film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which was released in 2021. Meanwhile, the second season of the anime aired from July to December 2023, with Shota Goshozono serving as director.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Release Date

This third season will adapt the Culling Game arc from Gege Akutami’s manga. Culling Game is one of the most brutal and action-packed arcs in the series, in which the witches are forced to participate in a life-or-death game orchestrated by Kenjaku.
The newly released teaser shows a number of highly anticipated moments. In the clip, we see the protagonist, Yuji Itadori, sinking into despair after the major events of the Shibuya Incident arc.
This clip also shows an intense battle between Yuji and Yuta Okkotsu, the main characters in the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
In addition, there is also a dramatic confrontation between the new character, Naoya Zenin, and Choso. Several fan-favorite characters, such as Megumi Fushiguro and Maki Zenin, also make brief appearances in this preview video.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 will premiere in January 2026. For fans who can’t wait until 2026, a special compilation film titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution will be released.
This film will present a summary of the Shibuya Incident arc and feature the first two episodes of the third season. The film is scheduled to be released in North America on December 5, 2025. However, there is no official information yet on whether the film will also be screened in Indonesian cinemas.
