Netflix has finally officially announced the release date for season 2 of its newest series, Squid Game. After achieving tremendous success and becoming a global phenomenon, Netflix officially asked Hwang Dong-Hyuk to develop the storyline for the second season.
The first season of Squid Game was released in September 2021 and quickly became a hot topic in various parts of the world, including Indonesia.
Squid Game Season 2 and Season 3 Release Date
Netflix has announced through their official YouTube channel that Squid Game Season 2 will be released on December 26, 2024. In addition, in addition to providing information about season 2, we also get news that season 3 will be released in 2025. This third season will be the final season of the Squid Game series.
The first teaser for Squid Game 2 shows the participants preparing to participate in the game of life. They are seen preparing to run in a stadium while wearing Squid Game’s iconic green jackets.
Some of them are seen falling down, indicating that the participant was unsuccessful and killed on the spot. The teaser closes with the appearance of Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) overseeing the game while standing near the running track.
Squid Game 2 will feature Lee Jung-jae as the main character. Several actors from the first season have also been confirmed to return, including Gong Yoo, Lee Byung-hun, and Wi Ha-joon.
The series previously announced several new actors who will be joining the second season, including Park Gyu-young, Choi Seung-hyun aka T.O.P, Lee Jin-wook, Jo Yuri, Won Ji-an, and Kang Ae-sim. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk returns as executive producer for every episode in the second season. He has also won Emmy Awards for the success of Squid Game’s first season.
