Jigoro Kuwajima is a former Hashira Thunder and teacher of Zenitsu Agatsuma and Kaigaku. After serving for many years, an injury at the age of 35 caused him to retire. He became known as Roaring Hashira for his prowess in killing demons. As the teacher of Thunder Breath, Jigoro eventually committed suicide when Kaigaku betrayed him and became a demon.
Jigoro was a good teacher, but Zenitsu was not a great student, so Jigoro only managed to teach him the first move of Lightning Breathing before passing away. Jigoro’s death left behind a lot of valuable knowledge, and the future of Lightning Breathing became unclear.

Despite his age, he is still able to protect Nezuko when he is entrusted with her care.
Urokodaki is a Water Breathing expert who cares for his students, feeling sorrow for their fate at the hands of demons. He also has a keen sense of smell, similar to Tanjiro, which gives him an edge in battle.
9. Shinobu Kocho
Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira, is the second active Hashira introduced in Demon Slayer, after Giyu Tomioka. She follows in the footsteps of her sister, Kanae Kocho, who was also a Hashira before she died. Shinobu is the only known practitioner of Insect Breathing in the series.
Shinobu is a formidable demon slayer, but her strength is based more on ingenuity and cunning than physical strength. As the only Hashira who cannot decapitate demons, he uses a special poison from wisteria to kill. This strategy poses a threat, as demons often ignore attacks that don’t hit the head, which can be fatal.
8. Muichiro Tokito
Muichiro Tokito is Hashira of the Fog, first appearing in a pivotal episode of Demon Slayer during Hashira’s encounter that decides the fate of Tanjiro and Nezuko. He manages to balance his role as Hashira and a dutiful husband to his three ninja wives, with an intense dedication to killing demons.
Uzui may doubt her talent, but her fighting skills speak loudly. His courage to face death and years of experience as a shinobi make him an exceptional warrior. Uzui finally retired after defeating Upper Six, despite being severely injured in the fight.

3. Giyu Tomioka
Giyu Tomioka, Hashira Air, is known for her calmness in battle and incredible self-control. In the first episode of Demon Slayer, she showed this attitude by letting Nezuko live. Tomioka, a water technique student under Sakonji Urokodaki, has the power of calm that helps him defeat enemies with ease. Rengoku combines the power of his fire breath and confidence to become a great demon slayer. Although all the Hashiras are very strong, Gyomei still ranks top among them.
