Enola Holmes 3 is Coming to Netflix, Filmed by Philip Barantini

Good news for Enola Holmes fans, because the latest news says that Enola Holmes 3 will soon air on Netflix.

The next installment of one of Netflix ‘s most popular movie franchises is garnering a lot of attention. According to a report from Deadline, Philip Barantini will direct Enola Holmes 3 on Netflix.

Barantini has a relationship with Netflix after completing a new four-part series called Adolescence, which features Stephen Graham and has started to gain attention for the way it is shot.

He rose to fame through his film Boiling Point, which earned 11 BIFA nominations and four BAFTA nominations in 2021. He later adapted the movie into a successful series on BBC, which has just launched its second season. In addition, he also created, directed, and executive produced Malpractice on ITV.

Although the deal is not yet official, the franchise’s main star Millie Bobby Brown could potentially return to the role. Sources say that this project will likely be next after she finishes filming for the final season of Stranger Things on Netflix.

On the other hand, Millie Bobby Brown will also participate in the production process through her company, PCMA Productions. Jake Bongiovi and Isobel Richards will take on the role of executive producers for PCMA.

The first Enola Holmes movie aired in 2020 and received a very good response. Netflix continued the story with the release of Enola Holmes 2 in 2022, which also achieved similar success to the first film. Although many fans were curious about the continuation of the story, we finally got confirmation of the Enola Holmes 3 movie.

Story details for this latest movie have yet to be revealed, but sources close to the project reveal that Barantini’s approach has caught the attention of executives and producers.

They were impressed with Barantini’s decision to take a slightly darker tone and target a more mature audience.

The source also mentioned that Barantini conveyed this concept in a similar way to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which is known for its darker tone compared to previous films. This approach eventually convinced the studio.

The previous two films chronicled Enola’s adventures following in the footsteps of her famous brother, Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill), in solving various mysteries in London. The movie is adapted from the popular book series by Nancy Springer.

The first movie was released on the streaming platform during the pandemic in 2020 and immediately gained a lot of fans. Since the release of the first movie, Netflix has been quick to produce sequels.

Given the close relationship with Millie Bobby Brown, who not only stars in one of their most popular series, Stranger Things, but also several other films including the upcoming The Electric State, the Enola Holmes franchise has always been a priority for executives.
