Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige seems to be dropping hints that Scarlet Witch may be returning to the MCU. Kevin Feige attended the D23 event in Brazil on Sunday (10/11/2024) to present several MCU projects that will be released in 2025.
Kevin provided various developments related to several MCU news that are not yet certain, including the fate of Scarlet Witch in the MCU.
1. Kevin Feige’s hints about Scarlet Witch returning to the MCU
According to Collider, Kevin Feige stated, “all I can say is we’re excited to find out when and how Scarlet Witch can return.”
This shows that Marvel Studios can’t wait to plan when and how Scarlet Witch will appear again. What Kevin revealed is definitely not just a figure of speech or a fantasy. This seems to be a certainty that Scarlet Witch will return to the MCU in the future.
Kevin’s statement on this matter has further fueled fans’ enthusiasm to see Elizabeth Olsen’s appearance as Scarlet Witch in the MCU. After much speculation among fans since 2022, they finally got a little hint about the future of the witch in red in the MCU universe.
2. Wicth’s Body in Doctor Strange 2 Never Featured
Scarlet Witch did appear to let herself be buried by the rubble after her battle against Doctor Strange in the movie “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” (2022).
In the movie, Scarlet Witch tries to meet her two children who are not actually human, but an illusion she created. However, many fans have their doubts, especially since Scarlet Witch’s body was not shown when she was buried under the rubble.
Since the movie aired, many fans have speculated about the whereabouts of Scarlet Witch’s body. In October 2024, Marvel Studios launched a series called Agatha All Along. The series tells the story of Agatha Harkness who is trying to reclaim her powers after being trapped by Scarlet Witch in the series WandaVision (2021).
The series showed that there was a body in Westview by the name of Wanda Maximoff. However, the series doesn’t show Wanda’s face, leaving fans to doubt whether Wanda Maximoff is really dead in the MCU.
3. How Witch Returns to the MCU
Marvel Studios certainly has many ways to bring back Scarlet Witch in the MCU. If Agatha All Along continues into a second season, Scarlet Witch’s presence would seem very relevant and plausible, given that at the end of the series, we see William Kaplan and Agatha Harkness embarking on a new adventure.
The movie Avengers: Secret Wars could be the perfect moment to bring Scarlet Witch back into the MCU. Given the movie’s multiverse theme, it is possible that Scarlet Witch will appear as an alternate version from a different universe.
We can also say that Scarlet Witch is not actually dead. She’s just exploring other universes to find a way to meet her children. Whatever Marvel Studios decides to do will surely be accepted by fans, as long as the story feels natural and doesn’t disrupt the flow of the Multiverse Saga.
