The teaser trailer for Mission: Impossible 8 sees the return of Tom Cruise and gives a glimpse into the ongoing mission. A direct sequel to the 2023 release Dead Reckoning, the eighth film in the Mission: Impossible series will see IMF agent Ethan Hunt and his team continue to battle the powerful evil AI Entity.
Besides Tom Cruise, the cast of Mission: Impossible 8 also includes Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham, and Pom Klementieff who will be reprising their characters from the previous films.
1. Mission Impossible 8 Teaser Trailer
Paramount has now released the first teaser trailer for Mission: Impossible 8, which introduces the film’s title, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. The trailer is full of thrilling action scenes, including a possible dogfight between the yellow and red planes.
In the trailer, Ethan is seen running away from the explosion in the tunnel and exploring the submarine from Dead Reckoning. In addition, the trailer also shows that Gabriel (Morales) is still pursuing Ethan and the key he has stolen from Ethan.
In addition, the background voice of Luther (Rhames) captivates the audience by signaling that this is the last mission for the group, where the fate of the world is at stake.
Ethan also appears to engage in close combat against various opponents, while he is seen hanging off the side of an airplane during the aforementioned dogfights.
2. Not the Closing of the Mission Impossible Franchise?
As we know, back in 2023, Mission Impossible launched their seventh movie titled Dead Reckoning Part One. The results were impressive, where the movie managed to earn a revenue of 576 million US dollars.
Even so, these numbers are still below some of the epic movies released before. Interestingly, there was talk of a continuation of the movie.
Tom Cruise and McQuarrie initially agreed that the sequel to Dead Reckoning Part One would be the finale to the film franchise. However, news recently surfaced indicating that a new Mission Impossible movie may be in the works.
Although Ethan Hunt is unlikely to make another appearance, we will see a young IMF agent with Hunt as his mentor. The movie titled Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will be released on May 23, 2025.
