The latest news reports that the filming of Mission Impossible 8 has been completed. One of the lead actors of the movie provided the information.
Actually, the eighth movie in the series starring Tom Cruise was supposed to be produced simultaneously with the seventh movie, “Dead Reckoning”.
However, the plan was eventually canceled and production began in March 2022. This production process has been delayed before.
This happened after a massive protest in Hollywood in 2023 which caused all film production and screening processes to finally change or cancel. Film production finally resumed in March 2024.
Tim Cruise Wants to Continue Franchise after Mission Impossible 8 Movie
Through his Instagram Story, Simon Pegg revealed that he has completed the production process for Mission Impossible 8. The actor also showed his excitement for the movie project.
“I just finished my last day (of shooting) Mission Impossible and said goodbye to everyone. And we started shooting the first part of the story in September 2020 and now we’re in July 2024. It’s been an incredible adventure. And as exciting as this movie is going to be for the audience, I can’t wait to see it. But until that moment happens, Benji Dunn excused himself.”
As we all know, Mission Impossible will end their movie series with the release of the last two movies. A few years ago, the first of these last two films, titled Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, was officially released.
What’s interesting is that even though they plan to end the story in this eighth movie, Tom Cruise also has plans to continue the franchise, although the details of the plan are still unknown.
However, although the movie received various positive critiques and responses, Paramount suffered a financial failure as it lost a huge amount of money.
The production cost of the movie reached USD 291 million, but the revenue was only around USD 567 million. Given this situation, it’s no surprise that the Mission Impossible franchise will eventually come to an end.
