Split Fiction, similar to It Takes Two, will invite two players to explore different worlds in its story. The game follows Mio and Zoe, two writers of different genres, who become involved in an experiment of a technology company that is able to realize the world of their imagination through advanced simulations.
Mio and Zoe are trapped in the same world due to an experimental accident. Conflict arises because of the difference in their writing genres. Mio likes science fiction, while Zoe is more into fantasy. In the story Split Fiction, they try to find a way to return to the real world through a simulation they created.

The game developer Split Fiction confirmed that the development of the game was completed on January 28, 2025. Josef Fares, a game creator through his Twitter X account, invited gamers to prepare for the release of this game on March 6, 2025.
The game’s development was completed a few weeks before its launch, showing a smooth and seamless process at the end. This co-op game uses Unreal Engine 5 and will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
After the success of It Takes Two, which won the Game of the Year award at The Game Awards 2021, many gamers are now making Split Fiction one of their most anticipated titles in 2025.
