The collaboration between The Boys and Gen V became inevitable from the moment the trailer for Gen V season one was released. Characters from The Boys were not only present in the Gen V promotion, but the Gen V series also ended with a credits scene featuring Billy Butcher.
The two series have a significant connection, and that connection will hopefully continue in the fourth season of The Boys.
Sam and Cate, Gen V characters in The Boys Season 4
In the latest trailer for the fourth season of The Boys, two members of Gen V were seen in a brief clip. The trailer provides footage where Sam (Asa Germann) and Cate (Maddie Phillips) appear to be in Vought Tower. They are seen in the same room as Ashely Barrett, the CEO of Vought, as well as members of The Seven.
Fans may remember that at the end of Gen V, Sam and Cate became The Guardians of Godolkin, despite the fact that they were responsible for the attack on Godolkin University. It is still unknown to what extent Sam and Cate will be involved in the fourth season of The Boys. Or whether their presence will be limited to a brief appearance.
Noting the important role Gen V played in establishing the story for the spinoff series, where the fact that Billy Butcher discovered a virus that specifically kills supes was revealed. It is clear that these two series will interact with each other as time goes on.
Eric Kripke, creator of The Boys, has previously hinted that The Boys may end after five seasons, and while it’s unclear how long Gen V will last, the two series seem to be running in parallel going forward.
The fourth season of The Boys will begin airing on Prime Video on June 13, 2024, with the first three episodes. After that, new episodes will be released weekly every Thursday, until the final episode of the season on July 18.
