The prestigious award ceremony in the world of South Korean cinema, the Blue Dragon Film Awards 2024, was held on Friday night, November 29, 2024. At this event, which took place at KBS Hall Yeouido, Lee Je Hoon and Han Ji Min served as hosts.
The Blue Dragon Film Awards is an award show held annually, which was first introduced to support the advancement of the local film industry. Today, it has become one of the most prestigious awards in the Korean film world.
12.12: The Day won Best Picture at this year’s prestigious Korean film awards. In addition, the film, which became South Korea’s representative for the 2025 Oscar Cup, won the Best Actor trophy to Hwang Jung-min, the Audience Choice Award for Most Popular Film, and the Best Editing award for Kim Sang-bum – 12.12: The Day.
Exhuma also scored an impressive feat, being shortlisted in 12 categories, and only missing the Best Newcomer Director, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Newcomer Actress categories.
One of Korea’s best horror films won four awards, namely Best Director (Jang Jae-hyun), Best Actress (Kim Go-eun), Best Art Direction (Seo Seong-gyeong), and Best Cinematography and Lighting (Lee Moo-gae, Lee Seong-hwan).
