The filming of James Gunn ‘s Superman (2025) has officially been completed. James Gunn conveyed this news through his personal Instagram account. This means that the film’s production process was completed exactly 11 months before its scheduled release, July 2025.
Gunn’s Touching Message Announces Superman Filming is Over
The movie has cast David Corenswet to take on the role of Clark Kent/Superman, while Rachel Brosnahan will play Lois Lane. Interestingly, this movie will be the first step of the new DC Universe under the direction of James Gunn and Peter Safran.
In his post, James Gunn shared an image from the set in Norway. He is pictured with Peter Safran, David Corenswet, and several other actors and crew members.
“The filming process is finally complete. I’m very grateful to the cast and crew for their hard work, creativity, and dedication that made this project possible. I wanted to make a movie about good people in a world that is sometimes not so good. The kindness, sincerity, and love that I encountered every day on set was inspiring and gave me encouragement when I felt too tired,” said James Gunn.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is a great honor. The end goal is Superman, but this journey is about the hard work, the laughter, the emotions, the ideas, and the magic that we shared together on set – and for that I am so grateful,” he further revealed.

The movie Superman tells the life journey of Clark Kent who grew up in Smallville, Kansas. He is a figure who tries to combine his background as a Kryptonian with his human life on Earth.
