Netflix plans to start producing the reboot of The Chronicles of Narnia later in the year. Greta Gerwig will begin production on The Chronicles of Narnia reboot in the summer or early fall. At this time, information regarding the details of the movie is still limited.
Scott Stuber, who is in charge of movie production at Netflix, has expressed hopes of starting production in 2024. Now, according to information from What’s On Netflix, it has been revealed that the production is planned to start in August.
The Chronicles of Narnia reboot to start production in August
In the past, Walden Media had worked on three movies of the Chronicles of Narnia series in 2005 and 2010. However, due to negative criticism and unsatisfactory sales performance of the first two films, Walden Media ended its cooperation with Disney and chose to collaborate with Fox.
Nonetheless, no significant changes were made, so plans for a fourth movie were scrapped. However, following Disney’s acquisition of Fox, fans can now enjoy three 2000s-era Narnia movies through Disney+.
Since 2018, Netflix has been planning to revive the Narnia series, but information regarding the project has been minimal, except for the announcement that Matthew Aldrich was initially selected as the director, before Gerwig replaced him in November last year.
