Sad news enveloped the world of football after Liverpool and Portugal national team striker Diogo Jota reportedly died in a tragic car accident in Spain. This heartbreaking incident also claimed the life of his younger brother, Andre.

According to Spanish media reports, AS, the accident that befell Diogo Jota and Andre occurred on Wednesday (3/7) at around 00.30 local time at kilometer 65 of the A-52 road, near the Zamora region, Sanabria, Spain. Both were in a Lamborghini car at the time.
The initial chronology shows that the car they were driving was believed to have suffered a tire blowout while trying to overtake the vehicle in front of it. This incident caused their car to lose control, go off the road, hit the guardrail, and ended fatally by catching fire.
The Civil Guard, Zamora Provincial Council Fire Department, and Emergency Medical Unit immediately attended the scene. Unfortunately, the lives of the Liverpool striker and Andre could not be saved.
Reports from Emergency Services confirmed that they received several calls reporting a vehicle accident and burning car at KM 65 in Cernadilla, Zamora. Staff dispatched from Mombuey later confirmed that two people died at the scene.
